Monty's Men Commemorative Trip to Normandy - June 2004

 

In 2004 Monty’s Men returned to Normandy once again portraying 9th Battalion Durham Light Infantry (DLI), 151st (Intermediate) Brigade, 50th (Tyne Tees) Division; comprising Company HQ, Platoon HQ and 3 sections supported by a jeep and RASC Austin Tilly. The trip included the usual 'Field' phase which took the form of an advance through the Normandy Bocage to the village of Lingevres; during which the weather was hot during the day and cool at night; so a little chilly for the troops in their dug-outs.
