Monty's Men Commemorative Trip to Normandy - June 2007

 

2007 saw Monty’s Men return to Normandy once again, this time as an assault troop of a squadron of the 49th Recce Regiment of the 49th (Polar Bear) Division with two International half tracks plus the trusty Austin K3 and Karrier K6 troop carriers from the 2006 trip. The trip included a fair amount of travel in the half tracks etc along the French & Belgium borders, plus the usual 'Field' phase during which the weather was relatively kind to us and we were able to sleep inside, albeit in old farm buildings, barns and stables. From their the Troops set up defensive positions and patrolled.
